Grow the Game Initiative, 2023
In our first year, we're looking to make an immediate splash in the global hoops culture! After traveling to 16 countries in the past two years to learn and connect with basketball cultures around the world, our team is prepared to make a quick impact to grow these communities.
This Initiative is three-pronged:
Three Immersion Projects
The first pillar of our 2023 initiative includes three immersive trips to underserved international communities with early-stage, but passionate, basketball cultures. Our focus is to not only leave the community with improved physical resources, but to inspire, educate, and maintain the basketball community, ensuring long-lasting effects. This is accomplished by a full immersion into the community:
- The improvement of a local, popular basketball court, anywhere from a simple court clean-up to a complete refurbishment or build of a court.
- A free two-day skills camp, aiming to instruct players on the fundamentals of the game and how to train themselves on the new court.
- An open tournament to ignite the local basketball community.
- Coaches' education clinics to educate local hoops leaders on not only the game, but how to communicate with and inspire their athletes, all while building a sustainable career for themselves in basketball.
- Post-immersion maintenance of the court and community via monthly communication with appointed local coaches and leaders, organizing infrastructure for a low-cost skill academy, and more. We aim to ensure that jobs are created and that the court doesn't just provide a spark to the hoops culture, but the local economy, too.

Our next potential locations? South Africa/Madagascar, a return to the Caribbean, and a project in the most passionate basketball culture in the world: the Philippines.
10 Athlete Scholarships
Providing low-income basketball athletes with a one to two week-long experience to travel, build a family with other hoopers from around the world, and train with world-class staffs. By getting out of their home community, experiencing the world, gaining other perspectives, and being both pushed and mentored on and off the court, these athletes:
- Learn life skills that will carry them far past the weeks on scholarship.
- Build a long-term support system.
- Experience other cultures and the vastness of the world.
- Are exposed to opportunities to play at the next level in the United States, and further their hoop career.
Our goal is to expose these athletes an experience like no other at the DETAIL Miami Summer Academy, a well as through other partner organization programs, to ensure that they become the local leaders and role models in their home basketball communities and spark a chain reaction in the younger generation at home!
Coaches' Education in 10 Communities
What's the easiest way to set up thousands of athletes for success? Develop coaches. Each coach plays a massive part in the athletic, social, and overall holistic development of many athletes. Good coaches can change lives for the better, and poorly trained coaches can have the opposite effect. It's our mission to ensure that coaches around the world are inspiring, educating, and training their athletes in the most positive manner possible. This includes:
- Creating and distributing extensive, but very understandable, coaches' education courses in various young basketball communities.
- Translating these courses into 5 languages for maximum comprehension globally.
- Holding remote coaches' clinics and conferences for underserved communities.
- Maintaining open lines of communication with these coaches to further their development.

Camps & Events
By Any Means Basketball has committed 20% of all proceeds from global camps (and 50% of their European tour) to ensure the AEI gets kicked off strong.
In addition, By Any Means and other organizations will also be hosting other events, most times in the form of tournaments. Whether it's local to Miami, in other cities throughout the US, or across the waters, we're working with these partners to host high-energy charity events to benefit the Grow the Game Initiative and promote hoops in the area.

Brand Visibility
Working with brands and all sizes of businesses to support various parts of the initiative, with many visibility options such as brand placement on courts, social media visibility to a network of over 500,000 supporters, 1 million monthly impressions, and many more local eyes! Working with athletes and others who are looking to give back to their local or home communities by removing the organizational work and offering a turnkey process to host events, build or renovate court, and more.
